Lakesha Washington is a songwriter & songstress whose musical motivation stems from navigating through life's uncertainties, joys, and sorrows. When it comes to her message, she conveys her innermost thoughts from her faith walk personally as well as her desire to see others discover a connection with Jesus intimately. When it comes to one's gifts she believes our creative expressions are most valuable when we continue to build them with authenticity, quality, and truth while discovering our unique purpose in Christ.
Her repertoire consists of various writings - from Inspirational, R & B, Urban & Contemporary Christian, to jazz, and Neo-Soul. Lakesha wrote a collection of songs on her debut album (So Far So Close, It Begins In The Heart- under the artist name "LAW" available on Spotify & iTunes), which she leveraged to propel herself forward as a
Singer/Songwriter/Producer in 2011.
From New Brunswick, Canada, but currently residing in the Dallas, Texas area, Lakesha's early beginnings started with local San Antonio, TX Gospel music group named "Certain" with their album titled "It's Amazing" released in 2003.
Then in 2008, she teamed with her husband to begin "So So Blest" Music and Production Group. Her passion lies in sharing her songs outside the walls of the Church, gaining opportunities to sing at festivals, lounges, parks, and various events in order to reach the lost.
Today, she desires to work on new music for 2025 while welcoming the opportunity to write an attractive piece and collaborate with other producers, publishers, and artists. Her latest single "Draw Near" released in 2021, reminds those who haven't yet discovered Christ in their life, that he remains ever- present while calling their hearts to
draw near.
